When it comes to Selena Gomez, her press tour for ‘Emilia Pérez’ has been a journey predominantly through two colours.
You never quite know which way the pendulum will swing. But at the LA premiere on Monday evening, Selena returned to a colour that has consistently worked in her favour: black.
For this red carpet moment, she wore a stunning gown from the Elie Saab Fall 2024 Haute Couture collection. The off-the-shoulder design, elevated by a luxurious satin wrap detail, felt like a major win for Selena. It’s easily my favourite look from her press tour, sharing the top spot with that red Giambattista Valli dress from the Cannes Film Festival photocall.
The black gown exudes timeless elegance, but the addition of the wrap adds a layer of opulence that makes it a standout piece.
However, not everyone might be on board with her leather gloves. For some, they could be a dealbreaker, especially considering the gloves trend has been somewhat overused since 2020.
The gloves here, which might be a tad too long for her frame, could feel overdone for those experiencing “glove fatigue.” Still, even with that critique, the overall effect of the look is mesmerising. Selena strikes the right balance between modernity and old-Hollywood glamour in this ensemble.
To complete the outfit, Selena added a pair of Messika Divine Enigma earrings.
