Kate Winslet thoughtful tribute to Lee Miller at WIF Honors

Kate Winslet attended the 2024 Women in Film Honors at The Beverly Hilton on Thursday, where she received the prestigious Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film. For this special night, the British actress wore a striped ivory and blue floral suit from Erdem’s Spring 2025 collection.

Known for gravitating toward darker hues, this fresh, lighter look felt like a refreshing change for Kate, balancing a touch of classic refinement with artistic symbolism.

If the patch on the sleeve caught your eye first—it’s an intricate and personalised detail with a meaningful twist. Both Naomi Scott and Selena Gomez, have worn patches on their Erdem looks from this collection, where the sleeve patch featured a typewritten title page of ‘The Well of Loneliness.’

For Kate’s suit, however, the patch was uniquely customised to display the quote, “I’d rather take a picture than be in one” by Lee Miller.

This nod is significant, as it ties directly to Kate’s role in her upcoming biographical drama, ‘Lee,’ where she portrays Elizabeth “Lee” Miller. The American photographer, photojournalist, and former model who famously graced the cover of Vogue in an Art Deco illustration by George Lepape.

Known for her pioneering work behind the camera during World War II, Miller’s legacy as an artist and photographer lives on, and Kate’s suit subtly encapsulates this.

This personalised tribute makes Kate’s look even more memorable, artfully blending her award-winning performance with a timeless tribute to the trailblazing woman she brings to life on screen.
