After their Berlin premiere this week, Emma Corrin graced the red carpet for the ‘Nosferatu’ premiere at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, keeping their “free the nipple” campaign firmly in play.
This time, they opted for a pale yellow McQueen Spring 2025 gown with a high neckline and gathered detailing. Beautiful and ethereal in its simplicity, the dress veered into sheer territory—so sheer, in fact, that it required editing for a safe-for-work presentation, again.
As much as I admire the artistry of McQueen and the soft, romantic design of this gown, the narrative quickly becomes about its transparency rather than its craftsmanship. When the talking point is once again about exposed nipples, it inevitably detracts from the overall impact of the look. It’s difficult to celebrate the dress when its most discussed feature is what lies beneath.
Don’t get me wrong—I’m all for pushing boundaries and challenging norms, especially on the red carpet. It’s where creativity and self-expression thrive. But to center your entire press tour around how sheer your dress is a bit baffling. What could have been a celebration of Emma’s unique style and their collaboration with a fashion powerhouse like McQueen instead risks becoming repetitive and, dare I say, one-note, already.
The sheer trend has had its moments of empowerment and artistry, but here, it starts to feel like a gimmick. Emma’s boldness deserves applause, but I can’t help but wish for a moment where the focus shifts back to the garments themselves. There’s a fine line between provocative and predictable, and I hope their next appearance offers something new to talk about.
