Maitreyi Ramakrishnan co-hosted the Unforgettable: The 22nd Annual Asian American Awards on Saturday at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, joining forces with Stephanie Hsu for the evening.
The ‘Never Have I Ever’ actress turned to a familiar name for her red-carpet moment: Maria Lucia Hohan. If you’ve been here for a while, Maria Lucia Hohan might immediately bring to mind Kate Hudson’s iconic 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party dress. It’s hard not to make the connection.
This time, however, the designer showcased an evolution of her signature style with an electric blue corseted dress. The colour alone is striking, but the lustrous pleated silk—a hallmark of the brand—adds a touch of timeless sophistication.
The dress felt modern yet anchored in Maria Lucia Hohan’s recognisable aesthetic, which always leans into glamour with a touch of drama.
Maitreyi completed her look with Alexis Bittar jewels and ALEVI Milano PVC pumps.
While it’s easy to compare this to past creations, it feels like a step forward for the designer and a bold choice for Maitreyi. It’s always exciting to see how Maria Lucia Hohan pieces continue to evolve, and this dress certainly didn’t disappoint.
