Julia Roberts wore shorts on the red carpet, but the look is way more formal than it sounds. At the premiere for her new limited series Gaslit on April 18, the actor wore a monochromatic suit that swapped pants for tailored plaid shorts that hit a few inches above the knee.

The 54-year-old actor and her stylist Elizabeth Stewart went all in on Gucci, selecting a full look from the Gucci Love Parade collection that includes wool shorts, a vest, and a jacket. A pale blue dress shirt offsets the vision for a subtle splash of color. Roberts personalized the double-breasted jacket with a butterfly broach from Chopard, and she finished the ensemble with a simple pair of pointed black heels.

Robert posed with co-stars Sean Penn, Betty Gilpin, and Dan Stevens on the red carpet, and while she’s best-dressed in our book, Stevens certainly made an attempt to dethrone the Queen of Suits.
