Prince William and Kate Middleton will apparently not be visiting the Sussexes on their first royal tour of the United States in eight years, according to royal commentators quoted in the Express and the Sun. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be heading to the U.S. to host the Earthshot Prize Awards—a new annual prize awarded by the Royal Foundation to five environmentalists that launched in 2021—as the ceremony will be held in this country this year, likely in late fall.
Royal expert Neil Sean, per the Express, said that while this would be an “ideal time” for the two families to get together, “they’re planning a packed schedule with no private time for visits.”

According to Sean, the real reason the Cambridges aren’t planning to visit Prince Harry and Meghan is royal rift-related. “This all centers upon the fact that William is finding it very hard to move on from all those allegations that Harry put out about him and his family via Oprah,” he said.
Now, there is always the possibility that William and Kate really are too busy to swing by Santa Barbara on this trip. If the awards ceremony is being held in Maine, for example, that’s not exactly around the corner.
Still, it wouldn’t be the first time in recent months that the two brothers passed over an opportunity to connect. While Harry and Meghan were in London for the Platinum Jubilee, for instance, they threw little Lilibet a party for her first birthday—which Prince William and Kate did not attend. A source told Entertainment Tonight that this wasn’t an intended slight, only a case of unfortunate timing.
The question remains—are Harry and Meghan ready to forgive and forget too?
