Earlier, Moore went casual-business-nautical-chic in loafers, jeans, a white t-shirt, black sunglasses, a blue jacket and a striped bag. This outfit has gotta be at least 70% Gucci, right? When in Rome Venice!

These are just the opening acts in what’s sure to be a fantastic series of looks from Julianne Moore, who has literally never missed on the red carpet. Her Bottega Veneta number at Cannes was pure elegance. But even more impressive than her style is how she wields her power on set. As one of the few permanent A-list women, she’s in the unique position of being able to advocate for newer actors, and according to Alicia Vikander, she takes that responsibility seriously.

While filming the 2014 movie Seventh Son, Vikander says, an unnamed man in a position of power told a cruel joke about her. As she later said in an interview, “I was really embarrassed, and I would have just laughed it off…But Julianne turned to him and said, ‘If you ever do that again, I’m walking out of here and I’m not coming back.’ She was just, like, ‘Don’t you f-cking say that again.’ It showed me that she had the power. And that meant so much to me.” Slay.
