The 47th Deauville American Film Festival did start on September 2, and you may think that I was ignoring it, but I was keeping one eye on it all the time.

The truth is, Venice Film Festival was a lot more exciting, and it seemed that everyone had prioritised Venice this year over Deauville.

And fashion-wise, we got a lot more variety from Venice.

Lucy Boynton was awarded the New Hollywood Prize at the opening ceremony, where she wore a Chanel Spring 2022 Haute Couture dress.

I can’t say I was a fan of the organza, feather embellished skirt when I saw it on the runway, but it’s either the photography or Lucy herself who is selling this look to me, which is no doubt why she is a Chanel ambassador.

Chanel accessories including Chanel High Jewelry completed her look.

I was kinda underwhelmed by Agathe Rousselle at this event last year, but I was happy to see her bringing something different to this red carpet in the form of this Louis Vuitton bralette and apocalyptic draped skirt from the Resort 2023 collection.

Some might think this is inappropriate for a jury member, but this event feels more casual compared to Venice or Cannes, plus Agathe has always been a “march to the beat of her own fashion drum” kinda girl.

And honestly, I think this is an improvement over the runway.

For the ‘Armageddon Time’ premiere things took more of a moodier turn in her second Louis Vuitton look of the festival.

This look showcases just how relaxed this event is – at least in Agathe’s eyes.

Astrid Berges-Frisbey was almost unrecognisable with this new flame hair colour, but her love for all things Chanel remains.

This textured coat was the perfect transeasonal look for this festival.

Marine Vacth, who is also on the jury, was looking effortlessly chic wearing a black velvet Chanel Fall 2022 Haute Couture set with Chanel High Jewels and Chanel pumps.

Deauville Film Festival isn’t Deauville Film Festival without an appearance from Clemence Poesy.

There will be no prizes for guessing that she was wearing Chanel.

Usually her choices aren’t that exciting to me, but I love the glittering hemline on her Pre-Fall 2022 long-sleeved mini.
