This week, the likes of Bella Hadid, Doja Cat and Emma Corrin came to prove that when it comes to fashion, imitation is always flattery. With the first look at The Little Mermaid sparking fishtail-inspired ‘fits from Hadid and Kim Kardashian, and Rimon looking towards the Addams family for the imminent spooky season, our style icons proved that in order to create fresh looks, ingenuity can be sparked from anywhere.

Though it was My Policeman making its official debut last night, it was Emma Corrin who truly deserved the standing ovation. In a similar vein to their The Crown character, Princess Diana, and her iconic ‘revenge dress’, Emma stepped out in a black velvet bodice and sheer tights. Adding an extra layer of controversial styling, the Miu Miu bodice presented itself with exaggerated cut-outs at the hips, while length was restored thanks to some delicate mesh appliqués. Shown atop a pair of super high court heels, Emma Corrin arrested their audience with the addition of some Cartier sparkle — matching some metallic shadow across the bridge of their nose for an almost otherworldly finish. The work of famed stylist Harry Lambert, who is most known for his now-infamous work with Connin’s co-star Harry Styles, the actors latest statement was as bold as their onscreen presence. A true masterpiece!

With the first look of Halle Bailey as Ariel filling our feeds this week, it would appear the Disney effect has managed to infiltrate the wardrobe of one of our favourite style icons: Bella Hadid. Taking to the seaside in a chain-clad bralet, the model bares all as she fashions a starfish and heart as nipple covers, opting for an otherwise ethereal and floating silhouette with a white chiffon skirt. Ensuring that the minimalistic top does not stop her from enjoying a sunset on the beach, she completes the look with some coordinating arm-warmers and sea-salt sprayed hair. Atlantica is officially ready for her.

Doja Cat served in pink and plaid

Taking us on a trip filled with nostalgia to Britney Spears’s “Oops!… I Did It Again” era, Doja Cat dropped this school-girl-meets-punk look on her Instagram this week. Fashioning chunky highlights revived straight from the 90s, she pieces together a graphic baby t-shirt with a plaid pleated skirt. Blending shades of candy pink with army green, Doja makes an extra statement with a pair of black patent knee-high boots — injecting some Y2K flair with a silver chain belt for good measure.

Iann Dior kept his fashion game in check

When it comes to bold and daring ‘fits, none up the ante quite like Iann Dior. On his agenda this week, it was all about the prints — and clashing ones, at that. Channelling the garish palettes synonymous with the sixties, he is captured wearing a blazer and trouser set printed with multi-coloured squares. And, as though the bright hues were not enough to steal focus, he pairs the look with some slipper-style clogs, coated in a thick and fuzzy cheetah print fur. Though the combo might not be for everyone, we vow to follow whatever path Dior might set.

Rimon gives us some early inspo for spooky SZN

While pumpkin spice lattes are back by popular demand in preparation for the cozy autumn days, it would appear Rimon was getting ready for spooky season. Dressed in a distressed asymmetric body con that would make Morticia Addams swoon, she takes an all-black look to the next level, painting her fingers and hands to match. Cut-out at the sides and thigh and laddered down the cleavage, the dress is equal parts seductive yet chilling. Disrupting silhouettes even further, she ties everything together with a hybrid between stiletto heels and knee-high boots — the perfect accessory for those awkward in-between weather moments.

Kim Kardashian steps out in bejewelled fishnet for Fendi’s most recent show

Claiming the all-in-one style as her own trademark, Kim Kardashian got cocktail-ready with this sheer full-length gown as she sat FROW at Fendi’s last show. Broken up with panels of dark grey against dusky blue and creamy white, the fish-net style fabric was accented with hundreds of iridescent sequins, adding a siren-like appeal thanks to its fishtail cut bottom and exaggerated cuffs.
