King Charles came in second place in the competition, with 181 royal engagements in 2022. Many of these engagements occurred in the weeks following the death of Queen Elizabeth back in September. Prince Edward—the youngest child of Elizabeth and Philip—and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, won the third and fourth place spots on the list, with 143 and 138 engagements each.

Close behind his uncle and aunt in fifth place is Prince William, who attended 126 royal engagements during this orbit around the sun. His wife, Kate Middleton, made ninth place with 90 engagements.

Following the Queen’s death, Princess Anne released a powerful statement. “I was fortunate to share the last 24 hours of my dearest Mother’s life,” wrote Anne. “It has been an honour and a privilege to accompany her on her final journeys. Witnessing the love and respect shown by so many on these journeys has been both humbling and uplifting.”

She’s certainly carrying on the queen’s legacy of putting country first.
