In early April, the 23-year-old daughter of Reese Witherspoon, 47, and Ryan Phillippe, 48, debuted a ‘70s-inspired haircut, complete with breezy, undone layers and wispy, brow-grazing bangs. Leaning into the aesthetic, Phillippe wore a daisy flower crown and included a few words of affirmation in her photo dump. Along with the selfie, Phillippe shared more photos of flowers, a still of Hugh Grant in Notting Hill, and a bit of prose from Carmen Maria Machado’s memoir In the Dream House.
“It isn’t all daisy chains and pretty words…but some of it is 🌼,” Phillippe captioned the post.

A love of reading is far from the only thing Ava Phillippe has in common with her mom, whose book club recommendations can make or break an author’s career. Reese Witherspoon rocked a very similar cut in 2009, though the aughts were a time known for sleeker, meticulously styled aesthetics. Still, Witherspoon’s own take on wavy layers and wispy bangs has its own romantic quality.
