Following last night’s premiere, Alicia Vikander attended the ‘Firebrand’ photocall during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival this afternoon.
Dressed in a navy midi dress from the Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2023 collection, I was happy to see her in both a shorter version in this colour, and that she opted not to wear the embellished belt.
As you know I felt it was unnecessary on Cate Blanchett’s look, and it would’ve made even less sense here.
I’m not surprised by the omission, as Alicia usually cuts a very simple and clean profile.
Custom black Louis Vuitton sandals completed her look, along with earrings in white gold, sapphires and diamonds and a ring in white gold, sapphires, and pink sapphires from the Louis Vuitton High Jewelry collection.
For the films after-party last night, Alicia changed into another Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2023 look.
The changes to her dress may seem minor, but those details once again fit her refined style.
Given the choice of the two – commercial or runway – I would’ve gone for the runway version as it has more of an edge to it.
