The thing about being on the jury during Cannes Film Festival, is that they come out as a unit, and it is often frustrating because the wearer’s gowns can be obscured by fellow jury members.
In Brie Larson’s case, I’m not mad, because my overwhelming feeling is disappointment.
Looking at this Chanel Resort 2024 look on the runway, I get the initial allure, as the bohemian vibes are quite enticing and the craftsmanship of the tunic entirely embroidered with sequins and rhinestones in shades of silver and gold is appealing.
But as a whole, with the gold and beige layer, this didn’t work for Brie.
For me, this is a classic case of rushing to get a runway look out that has barely left the runway.
Give this to Suki Waterhouse, Sienna Miller or Alexa Chung and I think I would’ve been on board with this.
I never thought I would see a Chanel look with creases on the red carpet. I’m in shock.
