We are 30 seconds into the opening ceremony of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and I already have goosebumps and tears in my eyes.
As you all know, Fan Bingbing was the undisputed Queen of Cannes Film Festival for many years before her hiatus from the red carpet, so to see her back, where she belongs, on top form, wearing a Christopher Bu tiger print gown, feels like a full circle moment.
The actress always shone a light on Asian designers before the large fashion houses realised her power, so I’m glad she has gone back to her roots, giving us that dramatic, traditional style fused with plenty of Asian influences that made her standout on what is usually a busy red carpet.
What a beautiful way to honour your own legacy.
