Rachael's Good Eats: Easy, Laid-Back, Nutrient-Rich Recipes

Rachael DeVaux has devoted her life—and social media presence—to simplifying how to live, eat, and cook more healthily, so much so she turned her viral Instagram @RachaelsGoodEats into a New York Times best-selling cookbook by the same name.

A registered dietitian and personal trainer, DeVaux doesn’t just talk the talk; she walks the walk—atop cooking the food and doing the workouts, of course. But what sets DeVaux apart from so many wellness influencers is that shares her expertise, recipes, and workout plans in a super-approachable, accessible, and fun way. Followers with little to no experience in nutrition and those who practically live at Erewhon can benefit from her content equally, and so it’s no surprise her cookbook became a bestseller as quickly as it did. Equally unsurprising? DeVaux’s dedication to clean beauty.

“I think it’s important to consume healthy ingredients—ones that are going to help benefit your body and fuel your body—and it’s just as important to use as clean as possible skin care,” DeVaux tells Glamour. “It’s important to be aware of the ingredients you’re consuming or putting on your face, because that’s also being absorbed right into your bloodstream.”

That’s why DeVaux considers her skin care routine such a priority. “I have not gone to bed with makeup on my face for years and years,” she says. That said, she maintains a fairly minimalist approach when it comes to her regimen. “There are those days where I do want to have a whole spa skin care night where maybe it’s nine steps, but for the most part, it’s very minimal.”

Ahead, Rachael DeVaux shares her favorite skin care products for Glamour’s Drop the Routine.

My cleansers

I switch up between a handful of cleansers, but these are always in my routine: the Tula Cult Classic Cleanser, Covey—their cleanser is really gentle—and Tata Harper. All of Tata Harper smells like you’re at a spa, so that always keeps me coming back.

Tula Cult Classic Cleanser

My serums

The Tata Harper Resurfacing Serum is amazing. There’s lactic acid, glycolic acid. It smells, again, like a spa and is great for uneven texture and dark circles. It just really feels like it brightens my face a lot. Tula has a vitamin C serum that I use as well.

My face oils

My splurge item that I will continue to buy over and over again is the Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum. I’m so hooked on it. I also love Biossance’s vitamin C rose oil. It smells really good and is really clean.

My moisturizers

I love the True Botanicals Chebula Extreme Cream. It is so thick and luxurious, and I feel like my face drinks it up. I also like the Goop All-In-One Face Cream. That’s a great unscented, clean option as well.

My lip mask

The lip mask I always use is the Laneige. I put that one by my bed. And then the little to-go ones, I always bring with me.

My SPF

I like the sheer, slightly tinted Summer Fridays sunscreen. A tinted sunscreen is great. You can wear it in place of makeup or under your makeup, and that’s super important during summer months, especially.
