Selena Gomez recently extended an olive branch toward alleged ex-best friend Francia Raisa—and it seems to have done the trick.
Here are the bare bones of what’s been going down because if you’re reading this article, you’re probably aware of all the drama and may just need a slight refresher: Francia Raisa donated a kidney to bestie Selena Gomez in 2017, later saying the experience made them “family.” In November 2022, however, Raisa appeared to unfollow Gomez on Instagram after the pop star referred to Taylor Swift as her “only friend in the industry” in an interview with Rolling Stone.
At the time Raisa, herself an actor, reportedly commented “interesting” on an E! News Instagram post about the quote, though the alleged comment has since been deleted. Gomez later replied to a TikTok video about the fallout, writing, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
Though Gomez referred to Raisa as her “best friend” in March of this year, Raisa didn’t refollow Gomez on Instagram for another three months. On July 26, fans were surprised when the Only Murders in the Building star dedicated an Instagram post to Raisa on the How I Met Your Father star’s birthday, writing, “Happiest of birthdays to this special human being. No matter where life takes us, I love you.”

According to fan screenshots shared on July 27, Raisa responded to the post by tapping the heart button and following Gomez on the social media platform. She did not appear to have been following Gomez at the time the Instagram dump was shared.
