Taylor Swift

How would you describe this Taylor Swift look from a night out with Sabrina Carpenter in Sydney on February 20? I’m calling it Y2K schoolgirl (even though a real Y2K girlie would have straightened those bangs into oblivion). The sexy peasant-girl blouse is giving me hints of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but the pleated miniskirt and the shiny curls are all Plastics.

For her Australian girls’ night out, Swift wore a sleeveless black corset-type top that laced up the front and tied at the bust, which she tucked into a pleated brown miniskirt with a black belt. She kept the jewels and the hair simple, wearing only a delicate gold bracelet and necklace with what looks like a gold bar charm. Still in her natural hair era, Swift wore her light brown hair down in loose, curly waves around her shoulders, letting her bangs do what they will. As for glam, Swift went with a softer version of her signature red lip, and appears to have opted for a white mani.

Taylor Swift has been all about the neutral black-and-brown color palette on her off-duty days lately—when she wasn’t repping Kansas City in bright red, that is. Specifically, the black top and brown miniskirt combo has been a go-to. In October, she paired a brown skirt and black tee with a chocolate brown leather trench. She repeated the look in November, wearing a black t-shirt and plaid, pleated mini while out with Selena Gomez and Sophie Turner.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
