Four Emperors from 'One Piece' inspire latest Puma suede pack

Gear up for a new adventure in the Puma x One Piece sneakers, coming on March 23. The collection features (spoiler alert for those who aren’t caught up) the latest Four Emperors on the PUMA Suede.

Leading the Puma x One Piece line is, of course, our favourite captain himself in his Gear 5 form. Just like Luffy’s white hair and the clouds that surround him in this form, the sneakers are white suede with a cloud-shaped Formstrip. An extra pair of purple laces will be included for Luffy’s sash and the Gum-Gum Fruit. The other sneakers in the collection also adopt the characters’ colour scheme with details that are uniquely theirs.

Red-Haired Shanks’ pair is, of course, red with his signature three parallel scars on the heel of the shoes. Blackbeard’s Puma Suede is black with gold trim, mimicking his coat, with darker cutouts referencing his Dark-Dark Fruit powers. Buggy’s is instantly recognisable as his, with the red and blue combination and the spikes on the Formstrip that look like his hair.

The tongue tags on the Puma x One Piece collection feature each captains’ Jolly Roger symbol on their respective sneakers except on Luffy’s pair, which is adorned with his Nika symbol instead. Aside from Buggy’s, the shoes also come with a coin-like hangtag where the “P” of Puma’s logo is decorated like the Berry currency symbol.

Driving up the hype, Puma unveiled the official art for the collaboration on X, featuring Luffy in his Gear 5 form wearing his sneakers with the other pairs around him. The illustration was done by Takashi Kojima, who serves as the animation director for the anime.

While the legendary manga and anime has always had a strong and loyal fanbase, One Piece has been enjoying a surge in fans lately. Netflix’s recent live-action adaptation introduced the story to a new audience, and the streaming company is also rebooting the anime. As the manga slowly progresses through its final arc, there’s no better time for a collaboration.

The Puma x One Piece collection will launch worldwide on March 23, with each of them priced at USD 85. They will be available online and in select stores.
