Here is a roundup from the Cannes Film Festival premiere for ‘Marcello Mio’ which took place on Tuesday evening.
I feel like you always know what you’re going to get with Alessandra Ambrosio and Peter Dundas, but both surprised me on this occasion, as neither are known for presenting looks with soft elegance.
This union could have been so predictable, but it was anything but.
Pomellato jewelry completed her look.
I prefer the brooch we see in the Givenchy Pre-Fall 2024 lookbook over the silver finish 4G Liquid brooch Barbara Palvin accented her ice blue halter neck dress with, but she looks beautiful nonetheless, especially considering that she added a lining.
I’m sure many of you will share my feeling that the bespoke approach to Catherine Deneuve’s Chanel Fall 2023 Haute Couture suit resulted in a more refined and impactful appearance over the runway.
Céleste Brunnquell, who is promoting her new film ‘Maria’ at the festival, wore a Giorgio Armani dress that is both beautiful and unique.
However, it seems that the dress may not be translating as well in photographs due to the effects of flash photography.
Flash can sometimes alter the appearance of fabrics and colours, potentially diminishing the visual impact of the dress.
Despite this, the elegance and distinctiveness of Giorgio Armani’s design shine through, showcasing Céleste’s sophisticated style choice for the evening.
Death. Taxes and Charlotte Casiraghi wearing Chanel Haute Couture on the red carpet.
Coco Rocha looked beautiful wearing this Elisabetta Franchi beaded dress, which is reminiscent of a style you could envision Alessandra Ambrosio wearing, perhaps without the lining.
While Coco’s look was undeniably stunning, it did seem to miss the dramatic flair and theatrics she’s known for when donning designs by Gaurav Gupta or Christian Siriano.
Coco’s usual high-fashion theatrics often add an extra layer of excitement and drama to her appearances, and this more understated look, although beautiful, felt slightly subdued in comparison to her typically bold style choices. Which feels crazy to say considering how detailed the design is.
Didi Stone made a striking appearance in a Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture tunic-style gown.
While the overall design was captivating, the beige braided leather and crystal embroidery seemed to detract from the gown’s elegance.
Without these embellishments, the dress would have maintained a more streamlined look, allowing the clean lines and luxurious fabric to shine.
Despite this, Didi’s poise and presence brought an undeniable grace to the red carpet.
Emmanuelle Béart is known for her effortlessly chic and nonchalant style, but her Dior oversized trousers seems to miss the mark slightly, as they overwhelm her frame as the proportions of the trousers are too exaggerated.
However, the upside-down shirt is the standout element, adding a unique and intriguing twist to her outfit.
This creative touch showcases her bold fashion sense and willingness to experiment with unconventional styles, even if the overall execution didn’t fully come together this time.
Izabel Goulart made a striking statement on the red carpet by opting for a look from the Armani Privé Fall 2023 collection.
Showcasing exquisite Asian influences in the embroidery, it is refreshing to see a departure from the more predictable gowns often chosen by models at this year’s festival.
Jasmine Trinca made a refreshing style statement by choosing a custom Prada look that diverges from the label’s traditional duchess satin and column silhouette.
Kelly Rowland made a stunning appearance in a strapless Anamika Khanna gown with beautiful drapery.
However, her new hair colour seemed to detract from the overall look. The blonde tone, unfortunately, did not complement her complexion.
Leomie Anderson has a knack for making bold statements on the red carpet, and her latest appearance in this Sophie Couture feather-accented gown is no exception.
The striking design, with its dramatic feather details, perfectly complements her fearless fashion sense.
Speaking of fearless, the once fearless Lucien Laviscount kept things simple and elegant wearing Dolce & Gabbana.
Mariacarla Boscono strikes an elegant pose in Prada.
Marina Ruy Barbosa adding black ribbons to this Armani Privé Spring 2024 gown was a baffling choice.
Paweensuda Drouin wore a Chukiat Boonkong custom gown showcasing the fusion of traditional Thai elements with modern tailoring.
This was a captivating sight. It’s wonderful to see Paweensuda Drouin celebrating and promoting the beauty of Thai culture through their attire on the world stage.
If you’re anything like me you have been paying close attention to the custom Gucci looks at this festival.
Tecla Insolia informs us that Sabato De Sarno can do sexy and edgy in equal measures, I just hope this energy can be translated into Dua Lipa’s next custom gown from the label.
This is easily one of my favourite custom from Gucci.
Valeria Golino concludes this event wearing a Dior embroidered black velvet dress.
