Dua Lipa is now working with Jahleel Weaver (Rihanna’s stylist), who styled her in Alaïa and Versace looks for SNL this weekend, so the Met Gala was their first major red carpet event.
I have stopped longing for Dua’s dance-pop style, and taking on a new stylist informs us that she’s now fully embracing this new grudge direction.
I’m all for a bit of authentic grunge, however, I would love to be educated in what inspiration was behind this custom Marc Jacobs look.
As I see it, there are a lot of ideas going on without much cohesion.
It’s not about disliking the look, it’s more of a case of totally misunderstanding it.
However, I won’t see this as a barometer of this new stylist-client relationship, as I will look forward to seeing more from their collaborations.
