After much speculation, the Kendall Jenner Met Gala designer is…The Row?

Like any good model, Kendall Jenner is something of a chameleon, able to embody the girl next door, the sexy bombshell, the high fashion alien, or the old Hollywood glamour girl, depending on the circumstance. But one style we never thought we’d see her embrace is rich Brooklyn novelist. Which is why it was so surprising that for the 2024 Met Gala, Jenner will wear…The Row.

Yes, the ultra-minimalist line from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

In the past, Jenner has worn Marc Jacobs, Prada, Givenchy, Versace, La Perla, Calvin Klein, and Topshop. She’s favored figure-flatting outfits and plenty of sparkle, both on her gowns and via her jewelry. Whereas the Row’s aesthetic is like, here’s some loose brown pants and a large blazer, that’ll be ten thousand dollars, thank you. (But you know, fashion.)

Jenner confirmed the news via her Instagram Stories on the day of the event, posting a picture of the floor and her slippers and tagging the brand in a teeny-tiny font. Embracing proportion already!

Another Kendall Jenner Met Gala look for the books!

What remains to be seen is weather she will walk the carpeted steps alongside Bad Bunny, her sometime-boyfriend who is one of this year’s co-chairs (with Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth and Jennifer Lopez). No, wait, she’s back with Devin Booker. Awkward!

Jenner seems to have tapped into this year’s dress code—”the garden of time”—as far back as January, when she wrote a reflective post on Instagram to welcome the new year. “Years pass, and they seem faster and faster,” Jenner wrote alongside pictures of herself drinking white wine on a beach next to a mansion. “Presence and time is all I can ask for. So grateful for what has past [sic], so optimistic for what’s to come. Go love on the people you hold close to your heart, and don’t waste a second ❤️.”
