Donald Glover: A Style Misstep?

As a long-time admirer of Donald Glover’s unique fashion sense, it pains me to admit that his Fear of God suit fell short of expectations. Known for his bold choices and ability to seamlessly blend different styles, Donald has set high standards on red carpets and street style alike. However, he seemed overwhelmed by the abundance of fabric, and the outfit lacked his signature flair. This look felt too serious and heavy, plus I am missing the playful and nostalgic touch that Donald often brings in AMIRI and Bode, who are known for their retro-inspired pieces.

The oversized trend is one that has been making waves both on and off the runway. If anyone could pull off this look, it should have been Donald Glover, given his extensive style credit, but that wasn’t to be the case.

LaKeith Stanfield: A Breath of Fresh Air

In contrast, LaKeith Stanfield’s outfit was a refreshing and cohesive look that perfectly captured the essence of the season. LaKeith’s choice of a white shirt paired with beige linen trousers was not only seasonally appropriate but also exuded an effortless elegance. The addition of a leather rope-style belt, a knitted beanie, and retro Adidas sneakers elevated the outfit to another level of cool.

LaKeith’s look was a masterclass in summer dressing, combining comfort with style in a way that felt both modern and timeless. The knitted beanie, while perhaps a bit unconventional for some, added a quirky twist that worked well with the overall ensemble, plus we all know how the actor is never seen without some form of headwear.
