Our penultimate roundup from the Business of Fashion BoF 500 Class of 2024 event, held during Paris Fashion Week at the iconic Shangri-La Hotel Paris on Saturday, focuses on the bold Miu Miu looks that graced the red carpet.
Known for mixing playful aesthetics with an edge, Miu Miu’s designs brought an eclectic energy to the evening, perfectly matched by the stars who wore them.
An Unexpected Miu Miu Moment For Kylie
I never thought I’d see Kylie Jenner in Miu Miu, but here we are—and, unsurprisingly, the label adapted to suit her signature style. The champagne-hued dress she wore showcased a silhouette and length more in line with Kylie’s typical aesthetic, with striking details like the contrasting white draped bra straps adding a sultry twist.
We do get some recognizable Miu Miu elements here—the satin fabric, the floral crystal embellishments, and the iconic black Miu Miu Wander bag. Yet, it’s the way these Miu Miu trademarks merged with Kylie’s hallmarks that made this look unique. The belt as an arm accessory was a bit random, almost as if it was added as an afterthought, but I do think this was a successful collaboration between the brand and Kylie, resulting in a style that embodies both her boldness and Miu Miu’s quirky charm.
Daring Keyhole
Nara Aziza Smith made a daring statement in a Miu Miu Fall 2024 dress, featuring one of the largest keyholes I have ever seen on a dress. This look required a lot of faith in double-sided tape, and Nara made it work, exuding confidence while embracing the sultry and bold spirit of the design.
Despite my appreciation for the boldness of the dress, I wasn’t completely sold on her choice of shoes. The burgundy hue of her Miu Miu buckle-detail slingback pumps felt slightly out of place. Nevertheless, Nara’s look stood out for its audacity and commitment to an eye-catching, fearless aesthetic—very much in keeping with Miu Miu’s playful yet provocative edge.
