TikTok has introduced me to so many of my favorite things, from home decor to skin-care to movies. But despite the stiff competition, the Bissell Little Green cleaner is the best internet-famous product I’ve ever tried, hands down—and it’s currently on major sale for Prime Day 2022. Do yourself a favor and snag it for under $100 while you can.
I first came across the wet vacuum last summer, when my FYP exploded with video after video of the Little Green powering through messes and stains with ease. (It’s a perennial favorite of CleanTok for a reason.) After seeing it revitalize couches, car seats, carpets, and possibly the nastiest mattress I’ve ever seen, I decided I had to try it for myself. And folks, it really works.
I have a penchant for buying secondhand furniture on Facebook Marketplace, and when I moved into my current apartment last July, I wasted no time filling it with pre-loved gems. The best was a massive IKEA sectional for nearly $1,000 off retail. As soon as I (or, more accurately, my dad and my roommate’s father) got it inside the new place, it became clear that it was dirty and pretty badly stained.
But thanks to the Bissell Little Green cleaner I had just received, those issues didn’t last long. One weekend morning, I spent an hour or two methodically cleaning the entire couch. Using the device is super simple. First, you fill a tank with water and a bit of the included solution, then you use the nozzle to spray it on whichever surface you’re going to clean. After letting it soak in for a few minutes—and even adding a little OxiClean for more serious stains—you turn on the suction and slowly run the head over the fabric, scrubbing and applying more solution where you need more help. As you might imagine, watching the stains lift away was deeply satisfying.
The results stunned me—I suddenly had what was seemingly a brand-new couch, but without paying for one. (I can only imagine what it could have done to my family’s cat hair-covered sofa and all the disgusting upholstered furniture that came with my furnished college apartment. If only.) And when I was done, I simply had to pour the dirty water into the toilet and store the vacuum away in a closet. Let’s compare the couch before it was cleaned to the couch in July 2022:
Not bad, right? And that’s with a full year between cleanings; it was even better the day after the initial scrub. I can’t promise that your furniture and carpet will fare just as well, but I’ve seen enough TikToks to know that Bissel is on to something with this handy vacuum. Amazon reviewers feel the same way. (It’s garnered over 30,000 five-star reviews, by the way.)
“I have three children, a baby, three dogs, and two cats, and my couch was in rough shape,” one reviewer writes. “ I finally gave in and ordered this and it worked so well. Not only was it getting the stains out, it was also getting all the built-up dirt underneath the cushions up.”
