It’s been quite a while since we last saw Gong Li on the red carpet, but she joined a host of celebrities for the ‘Jeanne du Barry’ Cannes Film Festival premiere and opening ceremony this evening.
Known for her impeccable style, I have to wonder what the thought process was behind selecting this black Alaïa Fall 2023 turtleneck and ball skirt for a summer film festival by the French Riviera.
Even if wearing all-black all-of-the-time was her M.O., or if her style was gothic glamour, I would still question the turtleneck, even if the purpose was just to showcase that Imperio de Cartier High Jewelry necklace.
This is a flat no from me, from the look, colour, and styling.
