Katie Holmes Does Tonal Dressing in an Unexpected Winter Color

If I were hosting a brand activation in a “hip” area on the outskirts of the West Village, I too would invite Katie Holmes. I would not be surprised, of course, that she might at some point stumble upon the pop-up, given that she seems to have been tasked with a never-ending walk around the Meatpacking District. I would hope that she would somehow get drawn into its orbit.

I would be especially interested in Holmes’s patronage if she were to dress in the activation’s precise color-scheme—the pistachio cream of her oversized knit and the sunset gradient of her ’70s shades chiming with the venue’s signage—therefore making an innocent pap shot look like a glamorous advertising campaign for Perrier-Jouët and its “commitment to an environmentally friendly future.”

Her hands clasped around a gift bag brimming with carnations, champagne and freesias, Holmes’s outfit at the pop-up is a little more polished than her recent “cozy girl” attire. The swamping winter coat has been swapped out for a long-line leather jacket, while the concrete-scraping plaid trousers have been swapped for cropped denim. But, sometimes, there is not much to say about a famous person’s outfit other than: this person looks good in this photo! And so: Katie Holmes looks good in this photo!
