Viola Davis is usually in the habit of wearing bold colours, but she went in a different direction for the closing ceremony of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
She wore a custom AMI Paris look that some might compare to a nun’s habit or joke about her auditioning for Sister Act 2.
However, the boldness of this look, highlighted by a striking white cape, was a refreshing change.
Without the cape, the ensemble would have been a familiar column sequin dress.
I’m celebrating the boldness, the beauty and the brilliance of Viola who showed a willingness to step outside her comfort zone.
This was a risk which paid off for me.
Chopard jewels completed her look.
